GOLDEN GATE BRIDGE MOVEABLE MEDIAN BARRIER PROJECT UPDATE

The environmental and technical studies for the Golden Gate Bridge Moveable Median Barrier project began in March 2009. Final design is next, and construction and installation are anticipated now for 2013.

$25 million in funding for the Moveable Barrier is coming from three sources:

$20 million allocated from the Metropolitan Transportation Commission
$490,000 allocated federal funds
Remainder will come from Gate Golden Bridge toll revenues
